As both an educator and a ETCP Certified Rigger, one of my goals is to improve the working environment and safety of theatrical venues in my local communities through easily accessible educational opportunities to any individual who wishes to learn. In addition to my primary employment as a Professor, I worked as Head Rigger for Upstage Crew Services from August 2016 through June 2021 and have been the Consulting ETCP Certified Rigger for Valley Entertainment dba EKO Crewing since May of 2021. I have used my rigging skills and services to ensure the safety of rigging at numerous professional venues and events, held trainings and master classes for professional crews and in educational settings, consulted with local high school teachers to help improve the safety of their theatrical productions, I work to provide affordable theatrical rigging inspections and consultations for venues with smaller operating budgets, and I teaching rigging courses as part of my Technical Direction curriculum at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
